  1. The advantages of a growing nuclear energy industry

Proud Member of: Canadian Nuclear SocietyThe Government of Canada recently launched a renewed commitment to supporting the nuclear energy sector. This new strategy will build on decades of made-in-Canada innovation, according to a recent press release.

The advantages of nuclear energy are clear. It is a clean energy source. Nuclear power plants do not emit greenhouse gases, and unlike windfarms for example which depend on weather conditions, can operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

While there have been some high profile incidents nuclear energy is a much safer resource compared to the production of fossil fuels.

A good resource to understand the relative positives and negatives around nuclear energy can be found here. In the article they site France’s success in cutting down emissions, and clarify that “Contrary to what many believe, cooling towers in nuclear plants only emit water vapour and are thus not releasing any pollutant or radioactive substance into the atmosphere”

As new members of The Canadian Nuclear Association and soon to be members of The American Nuclear Society, we continue in our commitment to providing the nuclear industry in North America with the precisely engineered products they demand.

If your business is in the nuclear industry and you need heads for pressure vessels, formed elbows, or any other custom formed metal material please give us a call.
